{"id":3081,"date":"2020-02-16T12:29:41","date_gmt":"2020-02-16T08:29:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/104.152.168.11\/~globalwomens\/?p=3081"},"modified":"2020-03-11T11:05:59","modified_gmt":"2020-03-11T07:05:59","slug":"dewa-sustainovate-idea-lab-participants-discuss-building-a-sustainable-future-at-global-womens-forum-2020","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/globalwomensforumdubai.com\/2020\/media-centre\/dewa-sustainovate-idea-lab-participants-discuss-building-a-sustainable-future-at-global-womens-forum-2020\/","title":{"rendered":"DEWA Sustainovate Idea Lab participants discuss building a sustainable future at Global Women\u2019s Forum 2020"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><em>Emirati women have the power to stand out as leaders of teams, departments, and sectors<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Dubai, UAE, 16 February 2020<\/strong>: A group of pioneering female employees from the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) came together in a breakout session to share their achievements as part of the DEWA Sustainovate Idea Lab at the Global Women\u2019s Forum (GWFD) 2020.&nbsp;<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>GWFD 2020 is taking place at the Madinat Jumeirah in Dubai, UAE, under the patronage of <strong>His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum<\/strong>, Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates, and Ruler of Dubai, and will conclude on 17 February.&nbsp;<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The session\u2019s participants from DEWA included <strong>Tawadod Rashid Almutawa<\/strong>, Senior Executive \u2013 Future Accelerators Innovation &amp; The Future Division; <strong>Fatima Al Marzooqi<\/strong>, Senior Programmer \u2013 Analyst, Artificial Intelligence; <strong>Nouf Ahmad Almadani<\/strong>, Senior Executive \u2013 Future Accelerators Innovation &amp; The Future Division; and <strong>Maryam Bin Turkeya<\/strong>, Assistant Manager \u2013 Future Shaping Center. The participants discussed their professional achievements in working with the industry\u2019s latest pioneering technologies including Artificial Intelligence, Machine-Based Learning and the Internet of Things.&nbsp;<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During her session, Tawaddod Almutawa underscored the importance of the continuous support provided by the UAE\u2019s wise leadership to support and empower women since the establishment of the UAE, noting women\u2019s contributions to the development of the nation. She added that DEWA is a leader on a national level when it comes to gender balance, implementing innovative programmes and initiatives, which actively engage women in key roles.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In turn, Nouf Ahmad Almadani highlighted DEWA\u2019s efforts to support young women and give them the opportunity to demonstrate their capabilities. She cited that many women in government continue to draw inspiration from the leadership\u2019s wise direction, which is imperative to empowering youth across all sectors.&nbsp;<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As part of her presentation, Fatima Almarzooqi emphasised that DEWA was the first government entity to adopt Artificial Intelligence by launching the virtual customer assistant \u2018Rammas\u2019. She spoke about her first-hand experience developing this service, as one of the leaders of this pioneering project.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Maryam Bin Turkeya discussed Emirati women\u2019s journey to the future, presenting a range of figures and statistics that highlight the increasing participation of women across the board, both in academia and the professional sphere.
