{"id":3169,"date":"2020-02-16T14:42:00","date_gmt":"2020-02-16T10:42:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/104.152.168.11\/~globalwomens\/?p=3169"},"modified":"2020-03-11T10:19:18","modified_gmt":"2020-03-11T06:19:18","slug":"mohammed-bin-rashid-receives-ivanka-trump-at-gwfd-2020","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/globalwomensforumdubai.com\/2020\/media-centre\/mohammed-bin-rashid-receives-ivanka-trump-at-gwfd-2020\/","title":{"rendered":"Mohammed bin Rashid receives Ivanka Trump at GWFD 2020"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Government of Dubai Media Office \u201316 February 2020:<\/strong> Vice President\nand Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed\nbin Rashid Al Maktoum, received today, in the presence of Dubai Crown Prince\nHis Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Ivanka Trump,\nAdvisor to the President of the United States of America, on the sidelines of\nGlobal Women\u2019s Forum Dubai (GWFD) 2020, being held from 16-17 February in Dubai.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sheikh Mohammed hailed the strategic relationship\nbetween the UAE and the USA and the convergence of vision between the two countries\nunder the leadership of the UAE President HH Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al\nNahyan, and US President Donald Trump. His Highness also highlighted the\nefforts of the US administration to support and empower women at all levels\nincluding governmental, economic and social. He said the alignment of US and\nUAE efforts in this domain opens the door for more collaboration to raise\nwomen\u2019s contribution to the global economic development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>His Highness also praised the Women\u2019s Global\nDevelopment and Prosperity (W-GDP) Initiative, the first whole-of-government\neffort to advance global women\u2019s economic empowerment, which was launched by\nthe White House in February 2019. The W-GDP seeks to reach 50 million women in\nthe developing world by 2025 through U.S. government activities, private-public\npartnerships, and a new, innovative fund. Sheikh Mohammed said the UAE is keen\nto share its experience in empowering and supporting women with all nations seeking\nto promote the role and contribution of women in building a better future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ivanka Trump thanked His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin\nRashid for extending her an invitation to participate in GWFD 2020, She\nexpressed her appreciation for the UAE\u2019s efforts in granting women equal\nopportunities to contribute in the comprehensive development of the UAE. She\nalso praised the key initiatives taken by the UAE government in this domain,\nmainly in terms of economic empowerment, supporting women entrepreneurs and\ndeveloping laws that protect women and ensure their key role in society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ivanka Trump also praised the UAE\u2019s efforts in\nsupporting Women Entrepreneurs Finance Initiative (We-Fi), as the UAE is one of\nthe 14 founding members of the initiatives. She also said that this reflects growing\nawareness of the importance of involving women in the economic sector and\nenabling them to succeed.
