Dubai, UAE, 9 November 2024: As part of the participation of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) as Strategic Partner of the Global Women’s Forum 2024, hosted by the Dubai Women Establishment, 12 female employees from DEWA will discuss the pioneering role of Emirati women in the energy, water, sustainability and innovation sectors. They will participate in four panel discussions over the two-day forum, which will be organised on 26 and 27 November 2024 at Madinat Jumeirah in Dubai under the theme ‘Power of Influence’.
DEWA seeks to share its experience in empowering women in the workplace and helping them achieve a balance between their professional and social lives, in addition to highlighting the role of women in leading positive change.
In a session titled ‘Trailblazing Engineers: Emirati Women Powering a Greener Tomorrow’, Hind AlMutawwa, Senior Manager – IPPs & Production Planning; Noora Alhammadi, Senior Engineer – Sustainability; and Fatma Jaffar, Senior Engineer – Water Operations and DEWA Women’s Committee Member, will discuss the pioneering role of women in engineering and sustainability, as well as their contributions in the field alongside men to achieve ambitious sustainability goals for a brighter future.
In a session titled ‘The Energy Equation: Leaders Redefining Success, Work-Life Balance and Global Influence’, Fatima Al Jokar, Legal Adviser and Chairperson of the DEWA Women’s Committee; Dr Aaesha Alnuaimi, Director of DEWA’s Sustainability and Innovation Centre; and Reem Alsuwaidi, Deputy Senior Manager for Development in the Talent Management department, will discuss the importance of achieving a work-life balance and excelling in leadership roles, highlighting the unique contributions of women in the energy sector.
In a session titled ‘Future Force: Youth Unleashing Global Impact and Driving Social Change’, Aysha Alremeithi, Deputy Manager in the Sustainability and Innovation Centre and DEWA’s Youth Council President; Reem Almansoori, Acting Manager – Network Design and DEWA Women’s Committee Member; and Reem Alawadhi, Deputy Manager – Digital Media, will highlight the impact of youth and their ability to create meaningful societal change, contributing to growth and development, in addition to their key role in the energy sector and enhancing sustainability efforts.
In a session titled ‘Future-Ready: AI Innovation for Building Tomorrow’s Smart Cities’, Ghinwa Krayem, Director – Experience Management in the Innovation & Future division; Abeer AlSharaf, Director of Projects Management Delivery in the Innovation & Future division; and Marwa Al Naqi, Senior Manager – Future Shaping, will discuss the Future Signals Catalogue, prediction systems and the importance of leveraging the latest technology solutions, AI capabilities and human competencies in designing pioneering city experiences that enhance customer and employee happiness, support productivity and foster a culture of innovation in developing sustainable urban environments while highlighting innovation and future technologies.
